Pearl Harbor - That we may never forget.
« on: January 19, 2006, 09:51:03 AM »
Hey everyone,

I was wondering if Raptor01 maybe created a new Pearl Harbor map recently. I recall the fun I had with it when Hawk8th hosted it around July of 2005.

I wanted to know because when I use the Rpearl.res map file that I currently have it wont load offline or online. I did hear hawk talking about bugs in the map, but I never knew that there were so many that after a while the map would practically self-destruct itself.

 Thanks

I had the bugs worked out of it, but when AH2 v.3.0 was released, the map would not load in the TE. 3.0 introduced new trees and object layouts so when trying to open Pearl in AH, it would crash. I was planning on starting rebuilding it with new (better) effects. There were plans for the CM Terrain Team to build a Pearl Harbor, so I stopped work on it until then. Hopefully with the new terrains coming out having a lot of imported objects, we will be able to start work on Pearl again.

That would be awesome Raptor. I understand what you mean with the terrain crashing AH. Whenever I loaded it to use it offline, after I clicked on offline, it would load for 1 second, then throw me back to the main menu and the clipboard would start moving all over the screen by itself.

But once again, thanks for the info guys, and it would be awesome if we could get another Pearl Harbor map into action.:D :aok

One of my main objectives this year is to run a full blown Pearl Harbor scenario in December.

That's what I wanted to do, and that's why I was asking about the Pearl Harbor map.
