How about AI resupply missions?, 3 C47s in formation that must be escorted. The creator can lay out flight path / alts and decide to air drop or land.
M3 formations of three that require ground escort could work too.
Something, anything that encourages re-supply. How about the ability to divert resources?, ie re-directing trains / convoys / barges to bases that need it.
Also, a big part of winning the real war was taking out assets, why not add icons to enemy trains / barges / supply convoys?... and when these or factories get hit, make it HURT in terms of availability; if the grunt training gets leveled, that country gets NO troop regeneration for that sector until its repaired.
Hardship and overcoming adversity were huge in WWII, it forced people to work together. As it is now rarely does an AH warrior have to deal with anything, oh wait "No drop tanks" is pretty stressful.. huh? how real does it feel to roll down a freshly bombed runway with not so much as a bump from the moon craters?... or would gamers totally freak out at having to ditch auto take off and think about something as trivial as taking off?
There's clearly been a great deal of thought put towards "realism" in *some* aspects of this game, like the FM, but they only highlight the areas which abandon all hints of reality... a bomb hits the runway and nothing happens, yet if that same bomb landed 5 feet the other way, something gets damaged / destroyed...huh?
Yea, yea.. you can't please everyone all the time, but it seems to me that there's enough input from enough folks to warrant a few small tweaks in game play.
One mans opinion.
