Hello all,
First off I want to say, THANK YOU to the people who were organizing in the Axis vs. Allies arena. There were well over 50 people playing, and it was a LOT of fun. Now, onto the report ;-)
20:25GMT - Our airfield at A11 has received reports that we are expecting an assault on the front airbases today. We have scrambled to get on the runway in our Spitfires and Hurricanes. I step up into the cockpit of my new Hurricane, and taxi to my flight position, awaiting further orders.

20:30GMT - We were ordered to fire up our engines, and proceed to 135 angels 20.
20:45GMT - Climb out has been uneventful, and I form up with Wolfala and Pooface to hunt for our prey. We are now over the English Channel and have just changed direction to 000.

20:50GMT - SPOTTED!!! Enemy Junkers spotted below us! Pooface gives the order to dive and fire at will.

20:55GMT - I made my first pass. My god, the amount of tracer fire is like a crosshatch stitch! My Hurricane has been pinged a few times, but I have been able to load the left engine of a Junkers with some lead, and set it on fire.

20:57GMT - Bloody HELL these things have tough skin, and it is just impossible not to get pinged. I have a hole in my cockpit not 3 inches from my ear. Thank the maker I was sitting back at that moment. As I climb back out of the soup, I spot another pilot making his run over my shoulder.

21:04GMT - Winchester! I can no longer help. I am RTB to A16. On my approach to A16, I fly over the town to see for myself if we were able to get the bombers down.... as I reach the area however, my heart sinks... No matter how many Jerries we shot down, and how many good men we lost to do so, we were unable to stop those homes from burning.

21:10GMT - I reach A16, flaps out, and tyres down. My Hurricane looks like swiss cheese, but she got me home, and I can't ask any more of her. I'm alive and I will keep flying until we no longer have to worry for anything falling from the sky other than rain.

Again, this was just a lot of fun. Nothing really is quite as "inspiration" worthy as seeing 20 Hurricanes and Spitfires diving down on at LEAST 30-40 JU88s with a smattering of 109 and 110 escort. It was great fun. Thanks guys for having me along!
