Ship Control

Anyone thinking that being able to control the ships directly(like the PTboat)
be better for the game? Anyone here play battlefield 1942? that is a much better way to have naval combat.

Put your 2 cents in.

BTW it would also be a reason to bring in subs to the game.

U-Boats

The U-Boats wouldn't stand a chance of getting in range - the CV groups run at a flat out 30+ kts all the time (which isn't very realistic).  They damn near outrun the torpedoes.

i think destroyers should be indipendently controlled. they would spawn like PTs and cost about 40 vehicle points. they should have torpedo tubes on either side. U-Boats should not be included as they were used primarily against shipping rather than carrier groups. ALSO!! ports should be able to spawn (in addition to destroyers) cruisers, they would cost about 100 perkies.

Controlling the fleet like a PT Boat

I would think it would be horribly boring.

You can't expect it to turn very well, meaning your inputs would last forever to make a course change.....I believe that is why they do it the way it is done.

There COULD be an EVASIVE button, that would automatically zig zap the fleet....that would be helpful.   I suspect we have an unusually high fatality rate from bombers, somewhat unrealistic.  Of course, we don't CAP like they would have in a combat zone.

Forgotten, but back in the game.  :)
