Looking for a squad
« on: January 26, 2006, 06:11:09 PM »
Hi, looking for a squad.   Not real good, but was hopeing to hook up with a squad that would take me in and show me how it's done right.  Really like the game, but it's a bummer not having somewhere to call home.  I'm a Rook right now.  I hope one of you might consider me.   Thanks, Otterpop.  (My 5 yr old son gave me that handle, so I'm stuck with it).

Hi Otter and Welcome,

1st thing you should do is figure what type of thing you want to do. Fighter,  Bomber , both.

I fly in a Fighter squad. Very rarely will you see us involved with base capture unless it's escortiing some buffs some where or trying to cap or defend a field.

We realllllly (mainly me I think) love just furballing and fighting. Die get a new plane rinse and repeat.

We do a few things but mainly thats it.

We fly for knights. Im sure there are Rook squads that would be very interested in you. We will help you in anyway we can in the sqd I fly in.

Feel free if you become a knight to look us up.

71 Squadron RAF Eagles.

We have 30 people and have room for a couple more. All good guys to fly with. We joke , laff and have tons of fun.

Great to have you in AH and feel free to contact anyone in the 71 squad for questions.

Salute Otterpop
If you like Jabo missions and dog fighting you can look for the Hay Street Boys in
Rook Land . Just Look for Teshaw,Skpg,Majwoody or myself. We mainly fly P51's when we fly together and on squad night but other than that we will switch to personal favorites.
Hope you enjoy the game...:aok

Did he say he likes flying the 190 ;)

The III/Jabostaffel is an LW squad that does a lot of attacking and fighter sweeps in Euro-Axis planes. We pride ourselves on working together, whether it be missions or training. Look me up in the MA sometime. If not, enjoy AHII all the same.

If your looking to fly "Historical" type missions, give the 78th FIGHTER GROUP "Duxford Eagles" a look. We fly the Allied side in P-47's & P-51's in the AvA when they are available and other Allied rides when they are not.

We are in the process of building the squadron up and you can get in on the ground floor if you want. No worrys about training, we will work with you if you need it.

Take a look at the website (Link in signature below) and if you are interested drop me a e-mail or PM.

GOOD LUCK AND GOOD HUNTING!

if you fly 190s then the JBs are a solid unit of nutcase fighter pilots. i would suggest giving them a shout.

and the haystreet boys are also diehard crazy types who fly fighters, anopther good group to look up.

if you come to knights then i repeats the COs (redtop) words :)

good luck bro.

Hiya Otterpop :)

As you can tell, there are plenty of great squads out there.  Pick a few and fly with them a bit to see if it's a good fit.  If you plan on staying Rook, feel free to check out the Nightmares VMF-101.  We fly all types, are involved in the Friday Squad Operations and other organized activities.

Just tune Voice channel 165 and give us a hail, somebody is almost always flying :).  If you want any additional information, drop me a line at dawg898@fuse.net.  Really, it's hard to go wrong around here, many excellent squad choices ... just take your time and make sure it's a good fit.

Happy Hunting!

Cya Up!

Thanks to all of you!  Wow, I had no Idea there were so many out there.  I will try to get with each of you and see what works out best.  Again, thanks to all of you.  It's really cool to know that there are squads out there who would take a newbie.  We get pounded pretty bad in the MA asking questions and stuff.        Otterpop

Yes, Otter, the MA is a harsh place.

For questions, learning, getting help, flying and fighting without the pressure of killing/getting shot:

Come visit the Training Arena. Official trainers and lots of helpful longtime players can show you "the ropes" there.
