Anyone have any ideas on where I'd get a display case for this?

I think the length will be 13.5" and the wingspan 17" according to 1/48 scale dimensions.

BTW, from what I can see Nuke has the nose art NAILED. Numbers and squadron markings (501st Black Panthers - horizontal tail stripe, orange cowlings) are historically correct too. WOOT!

What do you use to weigh down the nose?

I built a b-25 for my Dad years ago (he was a radio/nav). When he passed I went to gather up some of his stuff, there it was hanging from the ceiling. It's in my den now, but compared to Nuke's model it looks like a kid did it. Hey a kid DID do it. :)

Ignore the doll, they will make a custome sized case.

Nose art is a Witch lying on a flying broom wearing what equates to a bikini. The airplane was named and painted before my Dad moved to the left seat on it. However, I'm quite certain he'd have had the bikini painted on had it not been there. That's my Dad.  ;)

"Quitch" was "half-Queen, half-Witch" according to the naming story. The reference was apparently to her behavior with respect to how she flew. I guess there were some interesting problems inflight and some tough maintenance problems on the ground.

I'll try to get a build description for you guys. Thanks again for the compliments. I'm just happy that Toad likes it and I am happy that it turned out pretty good, for Toad's dad.

Awesome job Nuke!  Only an artist could produce such work.

Would love a build description.  Especially interested in the nose art and the panel lines.  Did you under paint the panels or do an ink wash?  Looks like both in some places.

Is there a book or other resource you could recommend for someone trying to learn to do models like that?  I just finished a F9F and am now working on a 190F-8 but am having trouble making the finish look good.
