Il Corpo Aereo Italaino fielded two squadrons from sep 1940 to apr 1941 would you staffer types include the MC202 to comemorate their participation in this phase of the hostilities?

While I agree that we could add the C.202 (its one of my favorites), the Italians flew CR.42's in this theater, not C.202's, and didnt see much combat even at that.

From the Comando Supremo website:

Quote
Another operation that took place by late 1940 was the infamous Corpo Aereo Italiano (C.A.I.). The propaganda operation designed to have Italian aircraft operating against the RAF on the Channel was ill conceived and conducted and showed at full the defects and the approximation of the Regia Aeronautica. The FIAT CR. 42s operating with C.A.I. were fifty, belonging to 18° Gruppo. On 10/19/40 they transferred on to the Belgian airfield of Ursel. The first action took place on 10/29, when 39 CR.42s escorted the Br.20s over Ramsgate. On 11/11 the bombers were escorted over Harwich by 40 CR. 42s but were intercepted by Spitfires and Hurricanes causing the loss of three CR.42s, while another nineteen were forced to crash-land in Belgium due to lack of fuel caused by the combat. The last action of November took place on the 29th between Margate and Folkstone with a combat against Spitfires that caused the loss of two more CR.42s (the British losses are still uncertain, if any). On 1/10/41 the CR.42s began to come back to Italy. Lack of heating equipment, open cockpits, primitive radio sets, in addition to an absolute lack of navigational capacities of the Italian pilots (a specific training was undertaken only after 1942) transformed this operation in a real nightmare for those involved!

What can it hurt?  The 202 has no cannon.  Granted it can turn with the spits more easily than the 109s, but you still have to work for a kill with those little pea shooters.  I really doubt it would upset gameplay much, and its not like we dont have to pretend with other planes.  So its a bit of a stretch.  We have seen worse subs and pulled it off.

I agree SA2, it wont hurt anything, and the C.202 is one of my favorites.

Honestly, I'd rather forget that partecipation :p

But I like the idea of having the Folgore in, even for 1 or 2 days.

Weren't G-50's involved too at some stage? Anyway, it won't hurt to include 202's for a few days.

It would be even better if we actually had CR-42's and Gladiators but as they would add nothing to the MA we won't see that in a hurry.

that would be the set up. too bad we don't have 1937 designs that saw service.

As any finnish squad comrades of mine might suspect, being a Macchiholic I am all for this (maybe just a little far fetched) idea of adding the 202 for couple of days.

If nothing else, at least it would give some more range for the plane selection. We are missing so many early-war planes in AH, that IMO not adding the 202 to the otherwise so monotonious selection of pre 1943 - 44 planes in BoB, would be wasting a good and founded opportunity.
