Madness over the Channel
« on: January 25, 2006, 02:34:53 AM »
Had some good fun fighting 109s in a Spit I over the English Channel earlier.  While I more often then not ended up in pieces, I did at least make em work for it and shot a few 109s up too.

Some screenshots.  The last one I was alone turning with 4 109Es for what seemed like forever.  I'm hit, the 109E in front of me is hit, the one closing from the right rear is hit and the 3 behind me are not.  The guy in front turning died, and I died right afterwards.

Good fun though :)

nice pics dan, was fun fighting with you tonight despite the early vulching and HO dweeb influx. fortunately they vanished as quickly as they appeared and the madness of BoB continued.

i switched sides alot but always found the fights to be fun either way.

hope we see more although i cant wait to get some cannon planes, 303s are great when you get a good chance, the 109s guns suck big time.

great matchup though, suprised wasnt a 110 varient added.
400 yrds on my tail, right where i want you... [/size]

The 110 was originally in, but removed to reflect the later stages of the BoB, when the Zerstoerer units were all pulled back (were sent to Russia). Ju-87 is now also not available anymore.

I had great fun too yesterday. The Lens were staging a few massive Ju-88 raids and after a while we got better at organizing massive intercepts. I someone managed to miss the bombers, but I tangled with decoys and escorts on three seperate occasions. These Finnish guys are good and disciplined too! I started out with a dogfight against two 109's at 18k in my lone Hurri. Pinged one lightly who was trying (and succeeding) in dragging the E out of me, but then had to go down as I had his wingman all over me. Much later I got the kill. They didn't follow me down to the English coast.

I climbed back up and tangled with escorts again over the French coast. A 109 shot my tail of with a great shot on the merge. Re-upped and again 109's. Killed one and got one assist in a furball. The wingman of the 109 I first downed I couldn't get to, he used his superior acceleration the 0G problem of my Hurri to full effect. When I tried to get him two guys were fighting another 109. However, when I gave up the chase on the 'wingman' 109 and climbed back up, the dogfight I left was still going, these two guys still hadn't finished off the 109. I dove in and got him on the first pass (a bit of luck there). He started whining that I picked him. True, but as the Finns showed before, he had no business low & slow on the deck.

Anyway, it was great fun, tonight I will be in the virtual skies again and a to you all!
