HTC and the International Flight Sim Convention?
« on: January 31, 2006, 09:59:48 PM »
To be held in Denver, July 1-2 2006.

Never heard of this before.  Has anyone gone to one?  Is HTC going to send a rep?

3 punts in a row?

Sounds like a tough defense....

I'll go and represent us all.
Anyone got a suit and tie I can borrow? :)
Preferably a bow tie  :D

If this is anything like the groups associated with "COmputer Pilot" magazine, then they deal manly with MS FLight Sim 2004, and endless mods and scenery additions for it.
I subscribed to Computer Pilot, but when I found that there was lamost nothing to do with Arial Combat flight sims, I have let my subscriptions expire.

I mean, seriously, when you have guys writing tours on VIRTUAL flights they made on the compter, and writing it up like they actually flew the real course, and including screen shots as photos from their "vacations", that's just a little much.

"Here is the Taj Majal from 1500 ft. AGL at 5 P.M. local time" (of course it's only on my computer . . . )

One guy actually had a story that covered 2 issues - he "flew around the world!"  Actually sat in front of his PC for 100+ hours watching the ocean go by....

People in AH complain about flying 5 minutes to get to a "fight" -  can you imagine flying constantly with nothing to do but look out your computer "window" and watch the latest issue of PV Aviator's Mega Scenery roll by?  Looking at the magazine, these guys get totally into it.

Now, OTOH, if they could make it so you could have a C-172 armed with a couple of .50's in FS 2004, that would be cool.

"Cut in front of me on the downwind will ya?  Take that Piper Cherokee!!!!! rat a tat tat tat . . .:D

Oh man, i just had a vision...hehe. Imagine we enter their ocean crossings somehow with a squadron of drunken AHr's in 262's and chase'em around the globe....lol.

I think they'd kick us outta their convention, haha.

"take some screenies of your #3 engine falling off a your wing vacation boy!! muahaha".
I used to be a fatalist,
but that part of me died.

I am not into that myself SKJohn, but think about it. Many of us write about our air combat as if we were really there. That is their cup of tea and air combat is what ours is. Just a different game genre that we don't care for.

Anyway it would be nice to know if HTC is going to do anything there. A squadie of mine lives in Colorado and would be a good excuse to go visit. ;)

Take a look at the vendor list versus available booths...

Not encouraging at all.  If that's all, it's a flop already.
