I wonder if that's entirely accurate...

It's got the MG feed chute bulges and the erla haube canopy, which would indicate G6 or G14, but it's also got the early style narrow crosses over the wings, and they are set far inboard, like you would find on an F4 or G2. I don't think it's a historic paint scheme, entirely.

The shape of the tail looks like a normal G6 with a straightened rudder. Doesn't fit the normal G-14/K-4 shape. :huh
Treize (pronounced 'trays')- because 'Treisprezece' is too long and even harder to pronounce.

well ok you two, I was looking for Erich Hartmanns G14 (or G6 if it can not be found) for Raven to do.   I have a few books on P38s, none on 109s though, so I was googling to find it( i know, i know).  either of you studs have anything on it?:D

I would suggest looking under Robert Taylor artwork for Hartmann.  He did several works that Mr. Hartmann commissioned for sale upon his death to assist his family.  They were completed and signed and put away for future release.  These are likely to have been approved by Mr. Hartmann and he was involved in the process.

At least one of them has his famous tulip artwork.

Also look around if you can find any profiles online from the aircraft of the aces series. I dont have a scanner or Id upload the ones you need.

AoA #37 has a few Hartmann profiles, and his G14 is on the cover ( and looks just like the one pictured above btw). Profile #29 is his G6 from fall of 1943, #22 is the one with the "tulip petals" from the autumn of 1944.

There are also several other good JG52 profiles in there (Rall, Krupinski, Graf, Steinhof) to do a wingman for that one. :)

I may have been too quick to comment.... apparently those "early style" crosses WERE used by Hartmann. I don't know if this was his personal preference or what, but I was fairly positive those crosses were gone by the time G14s showed up.
