ok heres a couple rubber bullet storys for ya...

1) one time was sittin on a enmy base in T-34 shootin planes wit turret.(thats how I role!) anyway lag was understood so I was used to seein my shell hit a plane an watchin it blow up a sec ot two later.

heres the rubber bullet......I shot a spitfire in the left wing while it was startin up its engine ( with the 77mm or whatever its) and waited to see the wing fall off or explode as it casualy throttled foward an took off.....NO DAMAGE!

2) ok Rmaniac will back me on this one (he was in the plane i shot), maniac was in F6f, i was in osty. He was divin in on me and when he was within 800 of me i nailed him on the center of his nose only to take out his engine oil, not the engine just the oil.   Maniac went back to go land.

I've had a P47N survive an Osti hit with engine oil being the damage. Don't remember if it was a head on or crossing shot. IL2 will survive a couple of hits from an Osti sometimes but thats kind of expected.

But maybe that guy did take on damage and it was delayed another few seconds to show up on your computer.  Or maybe you did cause damage, just not enough to take any parts off due to the high speed of his aircraft and angle.  I'm thinking though you had rubber bullets.  Do you remember if anyone else had the same problem at the same time as you furby?

Anyone else that has posted here have any rubber bullets on film?

i hammered him, those are 23mm cannon, usually a couple of pings suffice to kill something (even on panzers).  that spit 14 (took no visible damage at all) dove on field, flew around circling and flying about for about 15 seconds before dying to another friendly and giving me assist.

i sent film to HTC and as per usual didnt even receive a confirmation that they received it.  makes you wonder why you bother trying to help out sometimes.
I am not ashamed to confess that I am ignorant of what I do not know.

Ruuber bullets and tank rounds
« Reply #33 on: February 02, 2006, 06:19:27 PM »
I guarantee it happens in a tank.   In fact, when you are spouting "rubber" bullets, you can't even get a smoke round to smoke..  This has happened to me many times in a large GV battle.

Last night was the first time I had rubber bullets in a plane.  I emptied my 163 cannons into a  B24 with no effect.   Solid hit sprites, no damage.

I didn't film it because I don't film my flights unless I am in a great ACM fight, then for my own education.

Trust me, it happens, albeit quite rarely.
