Ron White says you can't fix stupid. I beg to differ. Stupid will usually sort itself out, it's just a matter of making sure you're not close enough to become collateral damage.

yes they did, it is a simple thing to do, all you need is a light projecting onto an peice of glass tilted to reflect the image directly at the pilot's head, that way the jossling of the head that occurs in combat will not affect the pilot's ability to see where his guns are pointed. it is exactly the same concept as those teleprompter thingies people use at public speaking events, and red dot sights on modern weapons.

notice how dispite the camera being off-center, the dot still shows where the gun is pointing.

Yes, that is what the glass is for - the aiming recticles were projected on  to the piece of glass.

Go to this website:  http://www.ceres.dti.ne.jp/~nabezo/AH/gunsight/gunsight.htm

In the collum on the far right, click on the names and you can see exaples of the gunsights and how they project the image on the glass. You can also use the gunsights in your own aircraft in AH.

Some aircraft had both the computed gunsight and old style "Iron Sights."
You can see this in AH with the P-47D-11, P-47D-25 & P-40E.

I'd like to see planes with the right types of reflector sights be able to adjust them. Like I think the sights used in the P-51 and P-38 could adjust to the target (one setting for whatever fighters the aircraft would encounter, one for the different bombers, etc). I think is adjusted to the target's wingspan, or something.
