What hockey do you watch? And I just watched Vanek from the Sabres block a shot with no penalty.

That's a pretty safe bet... Toronto's 3-0 against Atlanta this year, outscoring them 18-2. Atlanta's been terrible lately, and Toronto's coming off a streak of being terrible, although they've played reasonably well the last 5 games. It'll be a very physical game, no doubt instigated by the Thrashers... a team full of cheap shot artists.

NEW YORKLess than six months since players returned from a yearlong lockout, hockey is once again in turmoil following last week's announcement that "goaltending," or attempting to obstruct a shot on goal or impede the puck's progress with one's body or stick, would become a two-minute minor penalty, a rule change that went into effect Monday. "Increasing scoring with rule changes and cracking down on obstruction is one thing," said Phoenix Coyotes goaltender Curtis Joseph, who claims his job is being banned by the league. "But to take a page from the NBA and just outlaw goaltending outright Maybe it's just me, but I think that rule just plain goes against the spirit of hockey." Veteran NHL centers, forwards, and some defensemen took issue with Joseph's remarks, claiming he was still angry over being penalized seven times in the Coyotes' Monday night game against Dallas, in which Joseph had zero saves and lost 88-105.
Never happened, never will.

And fights in the crowd in Leafs @ Buffalo games? Uhh no. I've been to somewhere around 8-10 Leaf games in Buffalo, and I've only seen one fight. And that was because some scrawny guy spilled his beer on a huge fat guy in a Leafs jersey. Scrawny guy got hurt. I've also been to 2 Leaf playoff games in Philly, one of the most hostile buildings in the league (you should hear some of the sht the idiots in the crowd yell; they don't know jack about hockey, but they sure are vocal), wearing my Leaf jersey with "FLYERS SUCK" on the back, and nothing happened to me.

The money I made on this game will be devided between two of the games below and the money i put in yesterday goes back in the bank so nothing will be lost.

Here are my candidates:

Buffalo - Montreal
Nashville - Detroit
Boston - New Jersey
Minnesota - Colorado
Ottawa - Atlanta

So far I see Ottawa - Atlanta as the safest bet and I think I'll go for it. Any objections?

The second bet will be decided by the o'club, and if the game you choose goes thru this thread goes on until I have lost all my winnings. May be a short thread :D
