hey im flying in to denver to go skiing. is hwy 70 to Vail an easy drive in a rental? im guessing they keep roads clear and i dont know if i'll need chains. any good burger place near 70?

I-70 is alright if you don't go during rush hour, 5-8 and 3:30-6. Not really sure about burger places up to vail. A burger is a burger to me, so I wouldn't be the one to ask. And drive like hell, you get no respect on the roads here, just don't go over 10MPH. Have fun:aok

Skies are looking clear for the next few weeks, then it's spring and.......still nothing. Don't count on a blizzard anytime soon.

It's an easy drive along I-70 as long as a heavy snowstorm isnt present, then you might want chains on your tires. They do a pretty good job of keeping the roads clear, but kinda hard to keep them clear when it's snowing like no tomorrow

Other than that, avoid it during rush hour like nirvana mentioned.

i have rode in a rental 2 times on that route (to breck and vail)

it sure seemed like a long drive, but it was mostly clear. roads had little snow but were wet.
