Congressman Nirvana?

I just got a packet from CSLC http://www.lead-america.org/conferences/cslc/index.html in the mail.  Not sure if they send these things out to every high school student as some BS junk mail thing or what.  Pretty thick packet, haven't read much into it yet as i just got home.  Anyone else get one of these in the mail?  Looks like to have to have registered for it but i've never heard of these people in my life.  They even spelled my name right, and I always use psedonyms when ordering free stuff online.

What are they selling?  Looks like overpriced "leadership seminars".

They didn't send it to you because they've carefully selected you.  They sent it because they want your money.  I got tons of these things when I was a high school senior.  I think they got my name from the National Honors Society or National Merit Scholarship folks.

"In recognition of academic excellence, extra curricular involvement and leadership potential The Board of Directors and Honorary Board of Advisors invite..."

It is all about money ranging $1,389 for a 6 day enrollment up to $4,995 for a 2 week enrollment.  Of course you are getting a college credit for doing it.  You will also meet dignitaires such as President Bush, Sen. John Kerry, Donald Rumsfeld, Tommy Franks, and....drum roll......JANET RENO!!!

They are roasting Janet Reno in an open pit on the final day.  :huh

They supposedly include food, can't imagine it would be great though.

My sister is doing something similar, except that it's a business seminar.  She was recommended by one of her teachers to it (it was free).  Everyonce in a while she gets off school and is bored out of her mind.

But she says it's better than school.
