night time was pretty on pizza. the canyons where fun to fly jets through.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

OMG..about the 262s in the canyons? That was some hairy stuff!! LOL
Its on that map that i re-named the 262 the "White Knuckle Express"
LOL This just proves fights were hard to come by.  Do you hear of people doing alternative things on Fester, Oz or Donut.  The reason people started racing 262s through canyons is because the fighting on Pizza sucked and people wanted something else to do.

As for map getting reset a lot, of course it did, all people did was sneak bases.  The fields were so far apart that mounting a defense was useless.

Pizza was loved by guys who wanted to take bases un-opposed, just ask Shubie and Beetle.

You kidding. it had a noodle of its own.

All you hadta do was llook at the entire map when  it would first come up (maybe someone still has a screenshot)

That being said. I loved the pizza map. Of you couldnt find a fight somewhere then you simply werent looking hard enough because I never had a problem finding a fight or in seeing where the fights were

The only thing I didnt like about pizza was the rocks lol.

In any event Great post!

didnt catch me but reminds me of the time about a year or so ago when I put up the post
"THEY PERKED THE LA"

Caught a few people with that one lmao

Yeah Dred if you wanted to climb to 15k and fly around for 15 mins you would eventually find a fight.  Personally I would never play this game if that was the norm and most nights Pizza was up I would log and do some thing else.

I never saw what you discribe either.

But it would depend on what kind of fight you were looking for.

I'f you were looking for huge furballs (the kind of fights I DONT like)
Then yea. it was hard to find a fight.

But there were usually several smaller fights going on at any given time.

Had some good GV battles going on too which made for a nice change of pace

And dogfighting in the canyons was a real blast

Yes, but they cannot be named on the BBS.  If anything needs the file 13 it`s them two "From Here To Eternity" maps.

Why does AH terrian have to be so dark? Its a depressing dark green...even when the sun is at its brightest. The trees I've learned to live with. We have no fields, just dark green patches with these pyramids everywhere. If it were more multi colored it would be alot nicer.

Back in the day, when we had 250-300 people on at prime time and 100 or so durring the day, pizza sucked bad. Now the MA is so full of crap people, soemtimes 700 people at night, Pizza might not be all that bad. And a change in scenery would be excellent.

What would be cool is if someone skin'd pizza green over all of the flat land and then left the huge canyons and cracks brown/dirt color.

Well, considering the fields were already 10k+ alt that wasn't so bad. :D

I miss the pizza map.  It seemed to me the furballs were in the corners where the water (and the CV's) were plentiful.  I found lots of fights - fights that could actually be finished before "help" arrived.  The terrain color was monotonous but the canyons were cool.

Dude/...your 512 mile map is actually a 300 mile map. What's with wasting all the water space?
Are you using a LCD display?
PS...the water is breath taking :)

The outer reachs are OK, but these maps as a whole are never ending and  promotes pure lameness IMO. One horde in one section attacking one base with the opponent a section over doing the reverse. Of course you can`t please everyone.
Pizza was a large map with some good base battles going at nearly any given time. The new ones are just a matter of who has the biggest horde at any given time. I also miss the trips to Hawaii. :)
