Two wrongs don't make a right.

Yes it is absurd and oh so humanly typical to resort to violence in response to religuosly inflamatory cartoon.

But in retaliation are you going to mock somebody else's Jesus Christ? Ask yourself if that is the type of person that you want to be.

Baghdad, the city of peace, once brought  medicine, mathematics, writing and monotheism, and civilization to my ancestors in europe.

Now the viking returns the favor.

The prodigy of europe are struggling to bring baghdad into modern civilization. That my friend is karma. Not the bull**** supernatural imagined version, but the real, logical, sequential karma of the buddha.  That is; everything you do, even on a personal level, makes a difference. Be it negative or positive.

If we sow our seeds wisely in the arabian sands now, perhaps 2000 years from now our armies of redemption will come from the city of peace.

You know there is a Syrian consolate in Houston and an Iranian consolate operating out of the Pakistani consolate in Washington DC.

What is stopping anyone from counter-protesting.  Some Muslem effigy roasting and Arab flag burning would make some nice nightly news.

Umm, reality check....cartoons or not, when HASNT the muslim world exlpoded in anger at the rest of the world?  Before this event, they were burning effigies of anyone who disagreed with them before.  This time, they've opted to get mad at cartoons that aired in September...and show their anger at several countries versus one.

Had to google the address, wasn't what I expected. I used to work 1 floor above a consulate, but I can't remember who it belonged to. The Syrian consulate, according to the address, is on the border of the Montrose area. That's the predominately gay area of Houston. For some reason, I find the irony absolutely hysterical.

Maybe if someone would make a picture of Mohammad rooting Jesus at a gaybar, both sides would be equally insulted and all would be well. :aok

Turns out these cartoons appeared in October (isn't that during Ramadon?) in Egypt but no one cared then, not until they were published in Western papers.  Sounds like an inside Cleric job to start some anti-western vibes....

And the pig nose was actually a French clown at a "Pig Festival" - it never even appeared in the Danish paper at all.

In his letter of “apology” Jyllands-Posten editor Carsten Juste wrote:

“In our opinion the 12 cartoons were moderate and not intended to be insulting. They did not go against Danish laws, but have evidently offended many Muslims, for which we apologize. Meanwhile a couple of offending cartoons have circulated in the Muslim world which were never published in Jyllands-Posten and which we would never have published if they had been offered to us. We would have dismissed them on the grounds that they breached our ethical limits.”

Indeed, the three cartoons breaching the paper’s ethical limits have been made by fanatical Muslim clerics themselves in order to set the world ablaze and provoke a religious war with the West.

Even under Western law the Danish radical imams belong in jail. Their hate crime must be punished. The imams are the hate preachers who are responsible for the destruction and the fatalities that resulted from their lies and their blasphemy. One of these lying imams is Ahmed Abdel Rahman Abu Laban. He works as a translator and distributor of an al-Qaeda related publication.

From Lingvo dictionary. [transliteration from Cyrillic] Samodur: despot; petty tyrant, wilful person

I'll add another meaning: an idiot who doesn't care.

When Orthodox crowd stormed their anti-Christian exhibition - I was on their side, only until I heard their explainations. I am not a big fan of our beloved Orthodox church, but I think they'd better get the bastards who organize such "shows", not the exhibits.

A good example of liberastic moral: "we'll do it because we have Sacred Freedom of Speech, and we do it simply because we want it, and we'll get publicity in any case".

whoever came up with 'mohamed sneakers with the prophets image on the sole' deserves an award.

also like 'prophet bumper sticker' idea... the cartoon with the prophets doo-rag a bomb with a lit fuse would be perfect.

was it alan dershowitz that quipped "now, we're going to have to license cartoons and cartoonists since it's obvious they are deadly weapons too".

LOL!

I just came across this link - it's another take on what's going on behind the scenes:

http://realtegan.blogspot.com/2006/02/what-its-really-about.html

Basically, the it's saying 12 original cartoons didn't really cause much trouble when they first came out.  However, this blog (which points to another one that I can't get to right now) mentions three other cartoons that were depicted along with the other 12.  By the descriptions,
they're quite a bit worse than the original 12.  All this occuring quite soon after the deaths that occurred during the Hajj (I assume it was the "suitcase" stampede).  Doesn't this "uh oh... hey look over there!" sound familiar?  Anyone see if the other cartoons really exist?

Nope, I wouldn't think it would matter either.  The bottom line is those cartoons don't warrant that kind of reaction they're getting.  If that article is true it's another reason why the Saudis really aren't our friends.  Who needs a friend who's going to push you in front of a charging bear so he can run away?

no you are wrong. Rambo went to help. though Chuck Norris would have done it alot faster, and with more bodies.
