krusty. for one let me start off by saying that any film I post isn't to gain the aprovale of the masses. rather its to show you the work i've done... and if you like it or not, it makes no difference to me.

the "jitter" was intentional. most of the films i've seen are far too molded, rock steady, and look nothing like the real deal. IRL you have camera bounce, shake, movement... AH films look so far from what plane to plane views look like. I went with a "raw" feeling on some shots because, well I felt like it. To break out and come up with something new, you have to try different things. Sometimes they come out looking spectacular, other times they come out looking just ok... and then other times they need to just be done over.

Frankly I'm happy with how the film came out. I cant' forget that it is the first film I've done using lockon. Even though their film viewer makes aces high film viewer look like a little toy, it deffinatly takes time to learn and master. Master meaning getting every bit you can from one single shot.

nice storytelling, its tougher with rocket combat, i like the final shots where the one tomcat is in the forground and all you can see is its nose and canopy which makes it look like a group of birds, specialy how they moved. looping that awfull music around 3 times didnt help but over all nice work.

Well I had some problems with 'IRL' there morph.

In flight, 14s dont jitter, they pitch and slide in thermals, but they dont jitter like there are goin down a very bumpy road. except when being shot from the cat.
Ya ever see the combat films of journalists from within a 17 looking at 3 other 17s rolln in the thermals?? You can still reed the numbers on the other aircraft.

Its difficult to fault you morph, you'r a prolific filmer and extraordinary pilot.

Does you fighter 'jitter' when you fly?

Yes they absolutely do.

You cant see this from a cockpit cam. But from a hand held digital camera there is plenty of bumps. Other times, not so much. Depending on air conditions.

You will almost certainly never simulate real true to life actual camera movements in any computer sim. The only thing that comes close to actual human movements in a sim is trackIR which inputs the movements from your head into the game thus adjusting views acordingly. Which makes for some killer films.

That is just one example of how "bumpy the road" can be up there. And I was doing my absolute best to hold this camera as rock solid as posible. The day was calm, no wind to speak of.

Good film. There's a lot of cool stuff that can be done with LOMAC with videos.

Next film, I'd like to see some in cockpit action with missile launches, lock ons, and head movements.

And it's obvious you're trying to make money at this by making the American's have uber perked rides, and nerfing those (IRL) uber Russian rides. :p

rofl, actually swarm, in all honesty... If  you set F14 AI's out on CAP/Intercept and they're armed with Aim54s' it turns into a turkey shoot... And the russians get pwned from 100 miles away.

As the title says, "first" so Im deffinatly all for requests.... They're alot of fun to make, and the more-different ideas the better.

hehe, well i will be the first to admit that its not good enough for something like that. maybe down the road when I come out with something else that is far better than this I would think about that. but there are alot of VERY good film makers for lock-on... The competition is far stiffer than AH's. The best AH film looks elementry compared to some mediocre lock-on films.

Well, you could try submitting it, they might just trim some of the scenes of formations out. Plus... how can you expect AH film makers to be better when WWII pilots only had black & white cameras stuck in the nose of their planes. Who knows what all junk other than oil hit the nose while flying?:p :aok

Morph, nicely done, as always. I'm sure you'll make great movies with Lomac :)

Just one thing: I see your point about camera bumping, but I think you put in too much jittering. A military jet plane is heavier and more stable than a biplane. Just my .02 $
