B-24 Tribute
« on: February 17, 2006, 09:41:15 AM »
For those of you un-PC  enough to read "American Handgunner", check out Clint Smith's tribute to his father on p. 24 of the Mar/Apr 2006 issue.

For those underpriviliged (sp?) few who don't have access, CLint's dad flew 41 missions as a nose gunner on a B-24 in th ePacific, and got a but load of medals.
Clint is named after his dad's best friend.  His dad had to watch his friend's B-24 next to him get shot down over Iwo Jima in 1944.

Clint relates his ecent experience when he got to ride in the COllings Foundation B-24.  After the ride, he opines that he thinks the young men who flew those things into combat "had really BIG personal body parts!"

Also, speaking of Clint Smith - check out the new S&W Mod. 22 .45 acp revolver in the same issue. SWEET!!!!
