I pay, but I also value the H2H a lot.  It allows me to play in duels like the one we had with LLv34, using custom-made terrains.  Since, the MA, TA, and SEA covers little of what interests me(Russian front), then H2H allows me to make up what does.

LePaul...

I'll try again....what I fail to understand is why you are so upset that HTC won't accept your offer of more money...do you honestly think their business model was born to cash flow in the manner you desire? Sure, it would be great if we always got our way, but that's not a sensible outlook eh?

Bye

Groan...Ice...you're bringing a knife to a gun fight, ole buddy    Your parents must of had the hardest time explaining the birds and the bees to you...heheheh  j/k!

Wobble has taken the idea I had one step further.  That would be cool if that were the case, Wobble, but again the problem is that its drawing users away from the HTC servers...and obviously they need the subscribers and connections to keep the company going.

Thus why I inquired about the licensing fee.  I pay licensing fees for various things I have on my website, for example the chat server for over 1000 users at a time, I have to pay X amount.  Another example, I have an adult area on my system, and all the images and models get their fair share...thus I pay a fee for the CD the images are on, and a yearly licensing fee.

So you see, this licensing thing isnt evil.  The people that make the software get their money, and the endusers get to use it to offer it down to their consumers.

At any rate, we seem to be divided between 2 camps here...one side that thinks this is a pretty cool idea and wonders what HTC will offer in the future.  Or, the other half that is absolutely bent if you ponder, daydream or intend to ever play anything but in the Main Arena.  <shrug>

LePaul,
They would have to be paying costomers to host these games or to join them, so how would HTC suffer in any way? everybody is still paying for the service.

Heh.. I was about to say that same what TheWobble said.

Since we all login into H2H through HTC whether we wanted or not, there could be as well done 32 player H2H for paying customers, since they are identified through HTC anyways.

Benefit?
Since HTC most surely won't put up maps created by others, where do they play their maps then?
in H2H with just 4 vs 4?  sounds boring.
It would be very simple and easy task to do (as mentioned above, you play H2H by logging first into HTC servers, whether you wanted or not).

I don't believe there would be a loss either...  or where would that probable loss come from?
from more satisfied customers?

Torque you are a bad, bad man

(Wander on over to my site...www.checksix.net)

Fishu, you see what I mean!  I've seen some HUGE Pacific maps...but only 4 players?  Tsk tsk...get 16 or more in there and THEN it becomes a war rather than a skirmish

Did you hear anyone from HTC say that Fishu?

Paul I think there is a security issue here, who is to say that the server program doesn't get hacked from your puter and slapped onto a Warez site. I think those two week charlie lurkers are looking just for that opportunity.

Torque you are a bad, bad man LOL I'm not the one with the server hehe kidding. I find that more than 2 GIGs of porn on HD seriously distorts flight models in AH.
