Just want to give you all a heads-up on a movie I watched with friends last night. March of the Penguins was thoroughly entertaining and suitable for the entire family.
Set against a backdrop of unusually beautiful landscape and in a climate that records temperature of -80 degrees and 100 mph winds, the struggle of these imperial birds to reproduce is complex and at times unbelievable.
The French team who endured this hostile environment deserves full credit for doing a magnificent job over the 9 months they were filming.

I highly recommend this move for all!

If anyone else has seen this movie, I'd like to hear what your impression was?

Its a remarkable film.

I saw an Emperor Penguin late last year, they are big buggers up close.

I bought it for my sister for Christmas, and watched it before she got a chance to.

It's amazing what those little buggers go through to reproduce.

Thks for the tip xtoronto, the whole family sat down and watched it. Excellent flick, and of course during the movie there were 2 million questions from the kids.

Rip, I'm glad you and the family enjoyed this movie.

Many details in this movie are truly remarkable. The tenderness that the adult pairs show each other; the gentle handling of the egg by both partners; the timely return of the females to feed their newly hatched baby (to think that after 3 months absence they females return within hours of death to feed their babies and allow the male to return to the ocean to feed is incredible); the extreme climate in which all this takes place...etc.

It's a glimpse at a world that without a movie like this, most of us would never know about.
