Fishu still holds the streak record, I think it was over 230 kills.

OT: Logging this many online game hours (over 3 hours per day) shows signs of internet addiction. Social interaction should be minimal. :D

a little envious of this tally i would venture.

I have never once been vulched by him wheels down, have you?

Anyone who cannot congratulate such a decent score is tainted by the stupid ongoing BS war between 'furballers' and 'timid pilots'.

I like to fly into a horde and die fast. Shawk likes to try and stay alive.

Everybody starts this game pretending to be a real fighter pilot.

Everybody starts a new tour and tries to kick *** before their first death.

Everybody in this thread (almost) will turn and run to land 5 kills rather than fight a 6 on 1.

I have personally seen all but 3 of you chaps who dont applaud this feat running, vulching, score padding, ho'ing, and whining.

There would have been a time and a place where this would be congratulated by all, and all would start the hunt for Shawk.
now you just throw cheap putdowns at what is obviously a large talent for virtual ariel combat.

in the real war he would be a decorated hero and most of us would be dead (assuming he was a dore flying German)

roll on combat tour where true talent will be rewarded, not scoffed at.

truth is about 70% of us 'furballers' is we would last 10 kills before dying even if we tried to be a 'timid score potato'

Proove me wrong hotshots. beat this tally next tour.  :aok

(blah blah it would be boring for me, blah blah im not timid blah blah shawk sucks blah blah it takes no skill to get 127kills for no deths in 27 sorties - heard it all before.)

PS: this aint no rant, before anyone starts telling me im dripping out of my chair again, its purely an opinion.....possibly even a little bait :D

:rofl

Not to take away from SHawk.  IMHO he is a pretty good stick.

But he seems to have become a country ikon of some sort.  I've run into him from time to time and lately I find myself being jumped by 2 to 6 PROTECTORS if I even look like I intend to engage him.

Had some good exchanges with him in the past.  I won some he won some.  Now it's SEEMS kinda hard to engage him for all the "praise be to SHawk" hangers on doin their best to make sure in continues his streak.

SHawk :aok

Hangers on "ya right" :rofl

Yes - several times....

Last one was at FT - dude comes running down the running dropping bombs on planes spawning. Then up..up...up and back down the runway with guns blazing then ran home. :D

I followed SHawk around for 3 days just to see how he does it so dang well. Welp... Here was my findings.
He doesn't get slow...99.99% of the time. He does HitnRun mostly.
But most importantly...He hardly ever misses a shot.
I tried to mimic his style to no avail....I cant hit Crapola. Plenty of shot opportunities...15 to 20 per flight. but nada in the kill department. LOL
he flies smart and makes it count. I asked him what his convergence was. He said he didnt know. I told him i cant hit crap in the 190D9. He said he couldnt either. ROFL SHawk

Trust me as one who has always flown to survive and one who witnesses first-hand Shawk's flying on a daily basis. What he does requires alot of skill, patience, discipline and most especially EXCELLENT gunnery. All those who say all his achievements requires is to fly high, fast, with friends etc..PROVE IT. You go out and fly high, fast, with friends etc. and land 130 kills in 28 hops, with zero deaths and get 11 kills an hour, I'll wager any amount not one of you nay-sayers in this thread can do so, or even come remotely close even if you flew a 262 rather than a D9.

Sure Shawk vulches alot, most do. Sure he flies a speed ride, so does 75% of the arena, but that doesn't mean what he does is easy. The Fw190D9 is a horrible shooting platform, the forward view and ballistics of the guns are horrid. To maintain his level of success, especially in the gunnery dept. is pretty amazing. I also know from my anti-vulcher exp. Shawk also flies TnB planes in field defense against overwhelming numbers at a big E disadvantage, he scores those under attack for scoring reasons, but he whips bellybutton just the same.

I love to hear people poo-poo survivalists as if all that is required is the will to live. That is so far from the truth it isn't even funny. Flying to survive requires a tremendous amount of extra thought, effort, patience, discipline, aim and SA compared to just flying to kill. A successful survivalist like Shawk who has so perfectly balanced surviving with killing is a tribute to fighter combat. As I've said in other threads it is a precarious and delicate balance to maintain:

Fly too safe and you will live but not kill
Fly too recklessly and you will kill but not live

Anyone who can so perfectly balance killing and living is deserving of praise.

Actually I think most people have tried to put together a streak at one point or another.  Think I got to ~110 in an A5 back when I wanted to kill for a kill streak.

It just sucked the fun right out of the game though.. always worrying about RTB'ing.  More fun to just go and fight, and RTB once you are out of fuel/bullets.
