If we needed another P-38, that would be the P-38H. About the same weight as the P-38G, but with same engines as the P-38J. Weak intercoolers led to MAP limitations above critical altitude, but it was just as fast as the P-38J below that and more agile as well.

I still want the 6x50 38 which did see combat.  Dont know if didnt see combat but the 38L super strafer.  More guns the better I say. :t

The Mig & the 25 with the ground attack 75mm package would be sweet, but alas I believe the 75mm was an "in theatre" concoction devised by the ground crews...I could be mistaken.

I do believe they were built in the factory with the 75mm.  IIRC.

IIRC the field mod to the H model of the B-25 was the removal of the 75mm and installing an additional 4 .50 cal's in the nose for a total of eight, plus the four cheek guns and the ability to lock the top turret to fire forward for a grand total of 14 forward firing .50's. I belive Gen Kenny had a bunch of his B-25's modified in this manner due to the slow rate of fire of the 75mm. I seem to recall reading that in a book somewhere, then again I could be wrong.

If we get the B-25 though we need para frags. Would be easy to do. Take the already modeled 5" artillery shell and put the already modeled troop chute on it. Must be above 800ft to drop them, just like troops. B-25 could carry a butt load of those things too. Could be fun.

It was a B-25C that was first modified into a strafer by Maj. "Pappy" Gunn with Kenney's blessing. Eventually, NAA developed the B-25G and from that, the B-25H. Note that the B-25H did away with the co-pilot. You can read about the evolution of these aircraft beginning here.
