warping
« on: February 24, 2006, 11:54:28 AM »
I have a new computer>>>3 weeks old. Worked awesome till 2 days ago. I cannot stop from warping Really badly. I have turned off all anti virus, updater, spam, and anything else I can find. Everthing works perfectly it seems except for this game. My frame rate stays above 50 and almost always at 75. Pings are never lost. The problem is either my connection from cable, or some program I can't find that is running. I have scanned several times for virus' and have found none. I turned off all activex programs, and uninstalled any virus spam programs I have. When on Aces the games net status looks like an EKG. When net status is jumping I warp really bad. I need to get the net status to flatline, but can't.
What is best way to check my incoming internet connection, to make sure there is not a wacky connection there???

Are you on an Intel notebook?, if so..as a few of us have discovered, AH gets all upset at the CPU power saving scheme which you can disable in the BIOS. It causes serious warp / lag during game play.

If you're on a wireless router, might check your dhcp log to see if anyones been tapping in.

Are you killing off un needed services as well?, some apps will leave a few services running even after you kill the app

Examples: ituneshelper, ipodservice, qttask, realsched... can all be killed to free resources... thanks Apple & Real for these 4 resource pigs.
