MOTD Question???
« on: February 28, 2006, 09:57:28 AM »
Hey all,

I host H2H arenas and I have a rather pecuiliar question. I have tried almost 5 different things to get my MOTD's to work (MOTD = Message of the day) and yet can not seem to get my MOTD to work. My question is, am I doing something wrong or over-looking something?

Here is some of the things I have done:

Make a text file with my MOTD.
When saving, save it as an "All Files" document.
Select "Save Destination" to be the AHII folder.
Then write in the "file name" that it will be saved under to be "motd.h2h"
Then, in AH2, I went to: Setup>Arena Setup>CM TOOLS>MOTD> and wrote in: motd.h2h

I also tried writing in the "full path" once, with no success.

Also, once I followed directions on the CM TOOLS>MOTD screen. It mentioned that I should:
#1. Go to the AHII folder.
#2. Open the motd.txt file.
#3. Edit this file so it says what you want.
#4. Save the file as a different file name with the extension ".txt"
#4. Open AHII.
#5. and type in the file name with the extension.

 you guessed it... No success.

As general info, and I know it might not help any, my arenas can NOT host Sound / VOX. I am mentioning this incase you can only host MOTD's when certain UDP packets are capable of processing the MOTD.

Anyone know what I can do to fix this?
