Well as this thread is about AvA I think its entirely appropriate that we discuss English Cuisine and Football.
Food first. Chalk sandwiches really are quite delicious if garnished moderately. Do Americans garnish Possum Pie?
Football. At least you didnt call it soccer. I lived in Tulsa, Oklahoma during the NASL days 70's/80's and I worked for Tulsa Roughnecks. Tulsa was soccer mad, A City of 500,000 with a Pro Team. Why it all failed beats me. General consensus is partly because game doesnt fit US style TV coverage, and partly because Americans insist on comparing game to 'American Football' which it aint!
We all favour our own sport but Football (Soccer) is factually the most popular national game in just about every country in the world except the USA. I always root for the USA when they play Internationals and they've come a long way in the 20 odd years since i lived there.
Finally, I would never dream of being critical about an NFL Team because I dont know all that much about the game and the personalities involved. I would suggest a deeper knowledge of MY game is required before passing derogatory critical comment of any kind. Dont you?
