I was referring to the traces/ping plots Mugz.  Those can be compared and tell us a lot.  Remember, this is just a test.  We have not made a formal decision to leave the server at the new location, but we want to give them a fair shot as well.

You cannot use Netstat to get a complete picture.  Some people's pings will go up, but the overall connection quality could be better.  Some could go down, but that still does not go to the quality of the connection.

A low ping does little for you if you get a lot of discos.

Question. May be a dumb question but I'll ask anyway.

Why doesnt HTC simply have its own servers rather then go through another party?

then you could run it the way you want.

Or isnt it that simple?

Dont knwo the first thing about servers personally so please educate me

We have all are own servers, The question is how and where do you connect them into the internet.

You can either colo them with some service provider, basicly put the servers in there building. Or run a line from there building to you. Putting the servers on there sight is less expensive, and provides acces to hi bandwidth burst. But either way you are at the mercy of your providers connections. We have moved the Main arena , same server you have been playing on, to another building, hence another provider with different routs into the internet.
