sound question
« on: February 25, 2006, 06:11:24 AM »
I have 2 sounds that I want to use for my check 6 and warning sounds. I have them saved in the proper format and with the proper names, but they wont work in game. Can I e-mail them to one of you sound guys to see if maybe they arent formatted properly for in game use? I dont have sound-editing software on my computer to try and tinker with them like I used to do when I played WarBirds on my old computer :(
Treize (pronounced 'trays')- because 'Treisprezece' is too long and even harder to pronounce.

Make wav-file (Check6.wav) and place it to the sound folder (C:\Program Files\HTC\Aces High II\sounds), should work.
Only one type of Check6 (any kind with proper name and format) sound will work at the time.

Have that, wont work. Only check6.wav in the folder, can play it  in media player (or I-tunes, or any other media player) but it will not work in game.

Can you hear ANY check6-sound at all?
Default working?

If not, open game-->offline-->setup-->preference-->game sounds.
Scroll down to find Check 6 and it's file.

have done that, the check 6 works for every aircraft except the ones I have added the new sound to. I have gone back to the old one to make sure its not a bug, then reset it to the new one, and it still doesnt work.

I used windows sound recorder to make and edit custom check6 sounds.
record them in this format: PCM  22Khz 16bit stereo
Make sure it is labeled      check6
You can rename the one thats in there already from check6 to 109check6, or p47check6 or whatever plane your working on.
then just drag your new check6 into the folder.
should work with no problem
