Looknig for suggestions for a low refresh LCD
« on: March 07, 2006, 04:59:03 PM »
I'm thinking 19" monitor with a low refresh.  I love my CRT but these flat panels have me drooling.

Please, no "I've heard" (Krusty lol) ...looking for real life experience and referrals.  Coworker is raving about the Dell's, wondering what else is out there worth considering.

:)

I was really worried about using an LCD versus my old 19" CRT display. We really needed a lighter and smaller display since space is at a premium. In using the Samsung 912n for a year now and I am very happy with it. Granted the resolution is a bit limited on it but it is the same resolution I prefer anyhow. Any finer and it is too hard to see some of the displayed items. I have had no smearing and the action displayed is nice and crisp. So far all I have is one pixle out. It just shows red all the time. Very easy to ignore since it towards the bottm edge of the screen.

I've got an 8ms Samsung 930B that I'm happy with.  Works well for AH and everything else (including first person shooters like HL2).

I think if you go to Samsung site they have a new model lcd (model 960?) that is reported at 2 ms refresh?
It's been said we have three brains, one cobbled on top of the next. The stem is first, the reptilian brain; then the mammalian cerebellum; finally the over developed cerebral cortex.  They don't work together in awfully good harmony - hence ax murders, mobs, and socialism.
