Dowding...how do you equate the legal system convicting the right people 100% of the time to innocent people being executed, besides,
a legal system cannot operate with 100% correctness, we have to live with that, sad but true.  Legalized abortion on the other hand, is a 100% garunteed death sentence to any child who's mother decides it to be so, no chance for defense, no legal system to turn to, no trial...just death. I'm not saying I'm for or against abortion..I'm saying the liberal point of view, sucks.

i think you'd be hard pressed to label me as right wing.
 unfortunatly the american working man has no political party anymore.

 the republicans are a joke, they preach 'family values' while fighting minimum wage laws and work place safty laws.
you cant have family values if wages are so low that both parents have to work so many hours that nobody is raising the kids. i find it ironic that most christian groups alighn themselves with a party who has such a non-christian attitude when dealing with people less fortunate than themselves.

 then you have the democratic party. financialy they are much better for the working man(generaly wages for workers go up, while under republicans we are doing good just to hold ground).  however the democratic party has aligned itself with groups that are moraly bankrupt( pro-abortion, no prayer in schools,..ect)
and welfare benifits that exceed minimum wage.  most of your working class americans are democrats, we just have the misfortune of being lumped into a party that has been highjacked by vocal idiots with to much time on there hands.

so you can see that i am not rightwing and i'm not leftwing,  i'm that pissed off guy in the middle busting my bellybutton everry day to pay the bills and make sure my kids grow up to be better people than i am. and just wish'n the idots on both extreams would fall off the edge so the rest of us could get some work done

No I mean what I said- wages go up.
When my father retired from the union I’m in now in '81 union scale for a construction boilermaker was about $18.75 per hour and about a buck per hour for your pension.
When I started in '89 scale was still $18.75
But all jobs where for 80% of scale so from roughly 80 to 89 we took a 20% cut in pay.
Around '92-'93 wages began to climb we now make $26.47 an hour with about $4 into pension.
So lets review-
 Under republican prez, 20% pay cut and freeze in pension benefits over 8-9 yr.
 Under democratic prez, aprox 65% increases in wages and 300% pension increase

Most trade unions had similar changes in those years.  And other than the $600 I got this year very little of any tax break by republicans ever got down to a working class man.

I’m not especially fond of the Democratic Party but when I sat around the dinner table squeak'n about what a lying sleaze Clinton was, there was food on it.

Ammo - I'm no expert on the bible, but isn't there something in there which basically states 'Thou shalt not kill'? And frankly, basing modern day society on the writings of a bunch of people who were mystified by the sun's movements or the fact that water falls out of the sky is another issue that makes little sense to me.

Well, for not being a liberal, this is a very fine example of liberal tactics...take something completely out of context and apply it to whatever fits the agenda.  "Thou shalt not kill" is indeed one of the 10 commandments.  It means...don't kill from the get go...the verse quoted by ammo is the punishment.

Hi dowding. The passage you refer to is part of the 10 commandments that Moses recieved from God. It can be refered to in Exodus chapter 20. In Exodus 31:18 the 2 tables of stone are refered to which carry the Law given to moses.

Ex 31:18 And he gave unto Moses, when he had made an end to communing with him upon mount Sinai, two tables of testimony, tables of stone, written with the finger of God.

This is the ark of the Covenat which you saw Indiana Jones looking for in the movies.

The 10 commandments are meant for each and every individual to follow. They were specifically meant for each man or woman. This is why some have confusion about the "thou shalt not kill" statement and the death penalty. It is not some hypocracy. God did not forget governments  though, and throughout the Bible he has punished some (including the Israelites) and blessed some. His rules are there to read. Pick up a good study bible, and a good Strom's concordance. You cna learn much. First, I suggest you consider a relationship with Christ, as this neccessary to understand the Holiness of God and His word.

I like that  I guess you were for the Vietnam war too as it put people to work and food on their tables,right.  I guess you were for Jimmy Carter who help create the highest interest rates ever because your pay had to be increased just to maitain.  I bet you were out in the streets cheering when Clinton increased taxes on the rich in 1993.

If you were for any one or all of these things you were directly hurt by them and didn't even know it  Take a good look at your paycheck.  look at your gross pay and then look at you net and tell me you are undertaxed.  Look at your phone bill, gas bill, water bill, and anyother bill and just look at the hidden taxes in them.  They weren't put their by the Republicans.  They were put there when the Democrates for 40 years had power and they want to deny you the just passed tax (samll) relief.  They will stop at nothing to fool ya into thinking they are for the small guy when the coszy up to the Hollywood types, media elite types, and the rich of this country.  

Look at what the Democrats do, not their image!!  These liberal Democrats want to control your entire life.  They want to tell you when you can fart and for how long you can fart(enviromental damage, ya know).
