Tie ENY to Hanger destruction
« on: February 21, 2006, 01:25:45 PM »
For every hanger destroyed, the ENY for that base alone goes up, making the best planes unavailable. If all hangers are destroyed, the base can still function, but with only the worst planes. Hanger time should be down longer than it presently is to make it count.

Not sure if the code could take that modification, but I can see the possbilities.  I'd assume as the Hangars popped back up, they would have the same ENY problems, untill they were all up.

For that matter, all hangars could have longer down times, or field supplies less effective, but only to a point, and probably this idea would only work on the larger maps to prevent easy overruns. OTOH, is would be harder to sutain a push since you'd have to resupply and wait until you could effectively operate out of the last couple bases taken.....as distance and flight times from inital operating bases grows longer.

Plus by not being able to totally shutdown a base, the fight could stay there without becoming stale, and base capture could be a little more difficult.

That to me sounds good as the base taking porkers couldnt get their way by ruining the furballers fun.  But how many people will be willing to fly spit 1s, hurri 1s, emils, and 202s.  If this can be implemented, would need the limit to be anything above 40 or so to keep the choices still open.

Schatzi dont say anything about no one willing to fly hurri 1s.  You will ruin the point im trying to make. ;)

Id actually like to see the bombing affect the choices though. Make it dramatic. The one thing in this game is, opposite of real life, there is little reason to attack bombers. Make it so it does matter and the fights could only get better.

I don't see this doing anything, realistically, but promoting more uberhordes and hangardropping. Now, killing 1 or 2 hangars doesn't have much effect, so the hordelings come in NOE in B-24s to drop all the hangars. Maybe we kill them, maybe they get through. Knowing that just getting 1 or 2 down would stick us in high ENY fighters, they'd come in faster and higher in jabos, blow the hangars, then vulch for hours. I seriously doubt that many of HTC's customers (excluding a few eccentric Europeans whose names might be begin with an S) would warmly embrace spending all of their time online in high ENY planes.

I hope this doesn't sound like a flame, Filth; this is simply my opinion of how gameplay would change. Things like this might be interesting in AvA, but I think they'd tank in the MA.

I put this forth a long time ago.  The only difference I had was when the last FH goes down, the fighters are still disabled.  But for the most part, it is the same idea.  When you tie in down ord and limited fuel, it would really be interesting.
