Violent Policy Center (anti-gun) throws under-handed punch
« on: October 16, 2001, 07:55:00 AM »
I thought this very interesting. I know there are several folks in here that will appreciate this and stand on both sides of this debate.

Apparently, Barrett Rifles Inc, a company that builds precision 50 caliber sniper rifles for the government and sporting rifles for the consumer is under attack by the VPC for supplying arms to Afganistan. This is not the entire story however. As most  know our government supplied them with arms during their fight with the former Soviet Union. Our own Government contracted the Barret company to build the riflesd for the Afgan's.
Well, The VPC would like you to believe that the Barret company and other Firearms manufacturers are evil and they were on the own in this action. They are using the September 11 attacks as a tool to fwd their anti-gun agenda. Here are a few links to get you started

Just visited that VPC link and then the 1997 speech made by Heston to see what their complaint was all about. After reading his speech I have to say I'm just sorry he's too old to run for President of the USA, he'd get my vote.
