Well it was an army plane so I doubt all that many navy pilots died from engine fires in it

Ki84 pwns the P38 all day long although the P38 is one of the planes that can fight it best. Spit 16 probarly comes closer but the spit 16 is far easier to fly then both the 84 and 38 so that doesn't count
Like AKAK said, the key is to keep the fight fast. Problem is that keeping a fight fast often results in a boring fight (since 99.999% of the AH people can't aim unless they get to cherry pick a 100mph target).
And like Grits said, there are very few people who can actually use the Ki84 to its fullest.
