Bush is an executive head of country. Not only are his powers very limited, he (as any president) is severely restricted by almost evenly-balanced Congress.
US president does pretty much what the population wants and population here is very isolational, ignorant of outside world and could care less about "leading" you anywhere. US isolated geographical position and historical superiority do nothing to discourage such opinions.
For average american his mayor and state governour are much more important then the president.

Those poor guys who ended up with the post because they could not succeed on a corporate ladder must be getting those delusional ideas from you. They definitely could not pick such nonsence here.
We should probably restrict the freedom of travel for our presidents. Put an end to all those visits. All that european ass-kissing and calling them "leader" confuses the fellows and gives them wrong ideas where their responcibilities lay.
They should be drinking whiskey and @#$%&^@ interns in the White house while Greenspan regulates the economy instead of participating in all that stupid international circus.
