Well its for torpedo attacks but good luck on using it.

My best luck, come in about 45 degrees off the beam. Aim ahead of the cruiser to hit the carrier. Stay below 20 feet altitude. Don't drop till you have white waterspouts from acks all around you.

Offline or H2H works the best, because you can set to opposing task forces to steam side by side. Take off from one and turn and attack the other.

OR, turn protect objects off in arena settings and practise attacking fleet with no ack ripping you up.

Ghosth likes to live dangerously flying that low. I think he may have meant 200 feet.
Ballpark guidelines for a good drop are under 200 feet altitude and under 200mph. If it drops successfully you should see the torpedo's wake.
A non-successful drop will leave no wake.

But i am just interested and want to know the "I" shape instrument in the B5N. How to use it? And can it help me to aim in a torpedo run?

Fuze the lower you are the longer it takes for the ack to hit you.

At 100 feet of alt the ack will hit you roughly twice as far out as at 10 feet.

PLUS, the higher you are the lower your speed has to be for a good drop.

So you can come in faster on the deck and still get a good drop.

BTW a flat rudder turn is best for exiting, pulling up into a standard turn will get you killed most every time.

alamwuhk2a, yes it is for dropping torpedo's.
What I don't know is how close the pilots eye was to the gauge.
What speed the ship was moving at, or ideal speed for the plane.

LOTS of variables there.

Good luck on finding more specifics, hope you can read japanese.

Sounds good, no wonder I get schlameasled when I come in just under 200 feet.

If you're crazy, you can use this one, done by an "old squaddie" whom I never met.
