Please enable /.ef from chutes
« on: March 21, 2006, 01:15:03 PM »
I've been flying AvA intermittently, and appreciate the good fights! I'm bad enough that after dying a while I feel the need to go cherrypick something in the MA, but we wont go into that right now.

WOuld love it, though, if the admins could enable the /.ef from chutes, because I'm used to bailing and going to tower in MA when I die up high...just saves time.

Unfortunately, when that reflex kicks in in AvA I have the delight of gradually descending for an eternity, begging passersby to Chute kill me..

If I'm anywhere nearby I would be more than happy to shoot your chute...free of charge:cool:

Unfortunately, there is no way to .ef from a chute unless we enable 'exit while in flight'.

that means, you could be flying along, see six bandits jump you, and then .ef - presto - you're back in your tower.  Let me think about it...

ok... I thought about it.

no.

:)

Seriously though, try opening your parachute at lower altitudes.  Or just ride her in... like most  of us do... ;)

You are wrong. There is a way. There is an option for "exitwhilemoving" for chute only.

I highly suggest unbinding your bail out key, and take the express train to your new aircraft :)

UNdoubtably, and thats what I DO when I'm down low....as its the quickest way back to tower. When up high, though, I've gotten into the habit of bailing and /.ef in MA because its jsut faster than letting a fluttering bird thats lost its empennage ride in from 12K. And, as I said, I've run into the problem in AvA when i bail out of habit. Once the chutes open, I hit /.ef, and nothing happens, theres just nothing to do but wait. The 45 doesnt hurt the chute.....

Dont misunderstand, I'm not whining, and the thing isnt enough to keep me away. I tend to go where I can find lots of cons and a good fight I can survive in long enough to have fun, regardless what arena that happens to be. When the AvA is imbalanced or underpopulated, it isnt fun...but when it is balanced, its absolutely great. The /.ef is a minor annoyance, nothing more, and I expected it was only an oversight.

In fact, I'm surprised to hear that its hard to set up the end flight order in chutes only, becasue it IS, after all, the default in the MA. Are you sure there isnt a setting for it, because somehow HTC makes it work there!

i have a system of getting people to tower from chutes quickly and efficiently.  Just ask my friend Juntts.

I have turned on the .ef capability for chutes.  You asked, so we responded.

But if you ask most AvA staff, it's more fun to ride her in. :)
