I hope i dont get a ton of hate mail for this but here it goes. It kinda seems that plane set is being changed to please certain folks. Heard alot of complaining about zekes getting smoked by 26's. If they were there than lets have'em. Heard complaints of the zeke being no match for the P-40 hordes, and now axis get a little better plane. Didnt see the 5b in the MOTD at start of the map. Is the 5b to answer a possible supperiority in the air by the 40's? Really dont care if buffs come back or not. Lets disable buffs, ords and the M's and just make it a furbal arena, but next time we have the BoB map maybe, out of sympothy we can get the Spit5 to sub for Spit1.
For the porkers, my thoughts are up troops and lower down times of buildings. like to see people get 30 troops into town when buildings only down 5 mins.
Not posting this to start a yelling match. Its just an observation shared buy many allied pilots.
All good questions.
The B26s we have in AH2 weren't there. They were a rough substitute, as are many of our substitutes, but it just didn't work out because aircraft performance was so different between 1942 and 1944. Beyond that, they were being used in a way that was rapidly destroying the arena. No anti-allied bias involved; you will note that we didn't put the Peggys in as a substitute for the Betty, for the same reasons.
That the A6M5 wasn't included in the MOTD was an oversight on our part. Clearly the A6M5 was there in real life. People have been asking for it all week, but we waited until later in the RPS to include it (fly a P-40 tonight and discover why).
Thanks for your suggestions on Anti-Porking. Probably they would make it virtually impossible to take any bases with the numbers we get in this arena. While that would please ME, there are quite a few folks who enjoy the challenge of base capture, so for the present we'll try less drastic remedies.
I understand how this week's progress might make people think that there's a pro-Axis bent behind the scenes. There isn't. Because of the eccentricities of this map, and because we've had some dedicated (and probably new) mud movers, it has been an unusual situation, and something of a minor nightmare for the staff.
