It does appear to have stopped. The reason why I posted was that with the install of the new patch ... installing the new res pack ... and getting skin dowloads ... I thought that maybe something in the midst of all of that might something might be causing loss of UDP and not necessarily the internet.

Tonight I had about 10 disco's between 11:00 and 11:30 pmCST, one right after the other I finally had to just log for the night. I did everything I could think of to trouble shoot the connection on my end, reset the cable modem, router, cleared the dns cache, gave myself a static IP and DNS, kicked the dog, yelled at the wife but nothing helped. Anyone else have a problem with their connection? I kinda think it might be my ISP.
