Raid0 on my system... how to reinstall winXP?
« on: April 04, 2006, 12:40:08 PM »
This is unrelated to AH per se.

I am trying to format/reinstall WInXP from scratch on my desktop. All the files I wanted are backed up. I put the CD in, boot... when I get to the install part, it says it can't find my hard drives (They are not listed on the IDE controlers in the BIOS either, only the DVDR is)

I bought this system "installed" (:o) ... so I have no clue on how they installed this. I have a RAID0 on two phisycal drives.  Now, the 'logical' drive is separated into a 50GB C: drive... and the rest is the E: drive, where all my backups are (We're talking +/- 180GB... so no, putting those on DVDs is not an option untill I retire).

This is what I see when I click on the 'RAID tool' icon in the status bar (bottom right)

Help please :)

here is a quick answer
when xp starts its install push the F6 key and put a floppy disk containing your sata drivers in it and xp will copy them and find your hard drives.  go to your m/b driver page and get them or if your have the driver disk they should be their.
