HMMMMM.......
They work for me...................
I use the - key on the keypad and the throttle when I want to extend flight time.
I use the + key when it's time to engage.
I use the minus key when the engine goes dead to feather the prop as much as possible to extend glide time/distance for effort at deadstick rtb..............
So far this usually works on 109s, 190s, ponys, 205s, hmmmm don't think i've found a plane it doesn't work on??????
What exactly is missing from this setup?
works on all planes. the plus and minus keys dont actually change the prop pitch, just effect it, just like the throttle. HT said this a few months ago. what im asking for is more advanced engine controls.
im talking fuel mixture, being able to lean/enrich the mixture manually. currently this is all done automatically, infact, it may not even be in the modelling. what i think would be great is the option to do it manually, to extract even more performance or endurance from the engine. you could chose to have the computer do it all for you, like the stall limiter, or to do it manually.
direct control of prop pitch would be cool too, but i guess if the engine rpm and throttle are linked to it, its not as relevant.
basically, what im asking for is a more advanced engine model. would be great to operate the cowl flaps, fuel mixture things like that.
maybe im the only one:confused: i just think that the game would be more fun and more engaging if we actually had to fly the plane, instead of just control it, if we wanted to or not of course. it just adds more to the gameplay. sims like IL2 and FS2004 let you do it, and it provides more of a challenge. it would mean that for those that took the time to learn how to fly the plane properly, they would be able to have finer control over the plane's performance, in acceleration, high alt flying, top speed, fuel endurance, the list goes on. right now, it's like we all have a 'stall limiter' on our engines, stopping us from really controlling the engine, and going to the edge of the envelope.
perhaps it is just me. maybe im the only guy here that wants to have a more realistic flying experience. i just dont like flying a total arcade game. now, while AH isnt an arcade game, it would be far more of a simulation if we could have proper engine controls. i guess people have said that this isnt a sim, but if it isnt a sim, why do we have effects like the stall buffet added? it just adds another dimension, more realism, in fair amounts, can mean much more fun;)
