AvA for Europeans
« on: April 02, 2006, 05:29:42 AM »
I suspect a lot of European players would like to play in the AvA arena, but are put off by noone else being in there at Euro-friendly times. So how about we all agree on a time to meet in there for an hour or two once a week?

I would like to suggest a time of around 9 or 10pm GMT, preferably not a Wednesday or Saturday.

Anyone else interested? Perhaps if we all post times that we can make it, we can get a slot that suits everyone. Please make time suggestions in GMT so everyone can relate to it.

that would be 1600hrs on the east coast of the US.  you can usually find a few people on at that time.  I think the thing with some folks is that they equate 4 people as not a very fun time.  what one may find is a brisk 2 v 2 or 3 v 2 that tests abilities better than anything in the arcade arena, especially if you find yourself pitted against opponents with roughly equal skills.  If you think yourself as "all that and a bag of chips"  pick the worst performer and stay at 4k you will soon find yourself with your hands full.  The AvA is a very good alternative to the MA.  One player awhile back likened the difference to commercial fishing vs. one man, a fly rod, a cold stream and a rainbow trout.

AvA   is cool  but your right greebo not many players if any between 10am - to about    5pm ish  GMT time,

What we would need is a big list of interested  GMT time zone fliers and then organise  a  time and date best suited  for us all.

my squad email is  thefewsquad@hotmail.com      if you want to talk further.

All the best

Have to agree with Storch.  Don't let the low numbers put you off.  In many ways, the lower numbers make things a lot more interesting.  In the MA it is difficult to tangle with anyone for any length of time before either someone else nails him first or you yourself are bounced and forced off your target.  The low numbers mean you and your opponent are better able to concentrate on what you are doing for a longer time, until one of you makes a mistake.

I think I had a bigger blast last night than I have had in a long time, after it got down to 3 v 2.  Since I was on the "3" side, we were at a decided disadvantage.   :lol  But much fun was had by all!

Storch and Tbarone for teaching me how much fun scuba-diving can be! :D

Good luck, and welcome to the AvA, I am sure you will enjoy it!

Pop in even if you are the only one. Might draw another person in. And it only takes 2 to start a fight. :aok :t
Treize (pronounced 'trays')- because 'Treisprezece' is too long and even harder to pronounce.
