On April 18, 1942 -just over four months since Japanese naval forces had bombed the U.S. base at Pearl Harbor, sixteen crews led by then- Lt. Col. "Jimmy" Doolittle flew their B-25 Mitchell bombers off of the aircraft carrier USS Hornet (CV-8) in the first strike against the Japanese home islands.

The plane in the pick is not a B-25B, but instead a B-25J with the solid strafer nose (or perhaps the Navy version of the same thing, which they called a PBJ).  It's missing its upper turret, which was where the white dot is just behind the cockpit.

The B model as used by Doolittle et al didn't have waist guns or a tail gun.  Instead, the upper turret was back in the waist area, and there was a retractable ball turret below.  But the Doolittle Raiders removed the ball turret and installed an extra fuel tank there.  It did not have a tailhook, either, as it was never intended to land back on the CV.

I really want a B-25 in the game, and the B model would be cool.  What I really want, however, is the D, which saw all the important action in 42-43.  I especially want the strafer version with 4x50s in the painted-over glass nose, 4x.50s on the sides, a field-installed tail gun without the raised gunner position, and field-installed .30s in the small waist windows.  Or perhaps a very late D, with the same nose, a single tail gun in a raised position with better field of fire, and 2x50s in J-type waist windows.

The reason I want a D instead of a J is that the D was faster and could fly on 1 engine.  The Js like in the pic above couldn't maintain alt on 1 engine, which led to many unnecessary losses.

Back in AW, we had a glass-nosed J with 6x.50s fixed forward, plus a swivel gun for the bombardier.  That was a good plane for furballing with all the gunner positions filled :).  In WB, we had the H, which was like a J except it had 4x.50s and 1x75mm howitzer in the nose.  In real life, however, the big gun was found rather ineffective, and the lack of a copilot somewhat risky, so they often replaced the 75mm with 2x.50s.

Glass nose C or D version would be best as it was used all over the place from the Pacific to the MTO to the ETO with the RAF.  Of course the modified 5th AF C/D strafers would be fun too :)

The skinners could have a ball.  Desert camo, RAF camo, RAAF camo, all those 5th AF birds, etc etc.

i think it will only be worth addin if it could come off cv.  But like the doolittle raid it wont able to land on the cv.  Was there ever a variant that did?  A small bomber from a cv would be nice

Bandit not to be an ahole or anything but....
Pick up a freaking book!  B-25 flew 1 time off a carrier. To do this they had to strip guns , lower ords load out so they could carry more fuel.
So what you want is a b-25 with about 1/3 the ords and no defencive guns.
Ya that would be used in the Ma a ton. AvA would be useless as well.
