M7 155MM Halftrack

Field artillery is important in any battle. Addition of a 155MM version of the halftrack would be real neat, and likely not that hard.

Never heard a 155MM howitzer called a "40 40 mike mike". Where did you come up with THAT crap? And a 155MM howitzer would trash an airfield rather quickly. Properly hidden in the trees around a base, it would be hard to hit. An attack by 155MM field artillery would be devastating. A couple of those in the right place with decent operators could do serious damage.

Most 155MM filed artillery is towed, never seen one mounted in a halftrack. A little research shows an M7 (M7 Priest actually) to be a self propelled gun, 105MM, tracked tank type chassis. Hardly a 155MM howitzer, and certainly not mounted on a halftrack. You could add a towed 155MM howitzer, and have it towed by a halftrack.

The M3 half track never carried more than a 105mm gun. In this form it was called the T19 and was not very successful. It was considered too cramped and was quickly replaced by the Sherman based M7 Priest. The T19 was only used briefly after the Operation Torch landings. M3s with 75mm guns were more common but their only advantage over tanks in AH would be speed.

Yup, it was the M7 I was referring to. Called the Priest due to the pulpet style 50 cal MG mount.

As far as the 105 on the halftrack. Many of the items in the game were no very good in the real world.

Apparently there were several SP guns present from at least 1942 on.
The germans had several usually based on old French tank chassis.  The
US also had quite a few.

M-12 155mm

M-37 105mm based on the M-24 Chaffee chasis

M-43gmc 8 inch howitzer...now THAT'S a biga a meataball!

M-19 Twin Bofors 40mm
Power operated turret could elevate to 85 degrees, however only 285
were built.

i was just messing with the 40 40 mike mike thing i got it from the 40mm grenade launchers on an M16 and other assorted weapons ut if you think about it or 8" guns can barely do anything unless you are hitting a town considering arty will reload about the same speed or a little bit faster but unless you got a couple hundred guns all firing in an area and in RL they had to fire thousands and thousands of rounds to be effective also considering we have Dive bombing lancs and you can see gv's from 1.5k away and you can see them but just have to be at the right angle would make them extremly vulnerable.
