Building a puter and need input

38 helped me come up with these parts.
Im getting this for a friend who used to fly AW and now wants to get addicted again. This person will not overclock. The parts will be assembled by someone who does the computers for his corporation.

Any suggestions or changes? Am I forgetting anything?

If he doesn't get the x-fi soundcard, that other soundblaster one probably isn't much better than the mobo onboard sound.  If you're not going to use the onboard sound, may as well get a good card.

since their only using 1 video card maybe m/b without sli.  while antec psu is good.  pc power and cooling has better warranty and service mine died after three years they replaced it no questons asked.

Thanks JT. I personally have been satisfied with Antec.
It would be a hard sell to have him pay twice as much for a Pc Cooling unit..

JT, we thought about getting a non SLI motherboard, but decided that would limit the possibility of upgrading in the future.

I would not recommend buying hardware that has driver trouble already when it's for sale. Creative is known for giving the shaft to its customers driver wise.

I recall during my build up of wifey's pc(nearly same board/processor/ram/power supply) I read somewhere that if you want true SLI x16  to go for the ASUS SLI32 deluxe board........you might want to read up on that.......was some people who had trouble with the ASUS A8N-SLI Premium, your x16 is actually  
(2)  x8  slots in SLI mode , I think?.......

Ive read about 32X and the true dual 16X capability is kinda overkill .  I havent been able to find a pci-e card that can come close to saturating the 8X bus. It would be nice to have for the future , how far in the future is up to debate , could be awhile .

Here's a review where they bench 16x 8x 2x , look at the 2x scores . its interesting

The mb is fine as far as I can tell...
I changed the HD;s but he wont spend for the Raptors...................... .

I was just going off what I read on the ASUS message forums and on new egg, I i had not thoroughly reviewed them to the nitty gritty, I had just recalled the premium was not tru (2 slots) at x16 each, it actually was 2 at x8 each...according to the link you posted is hardly any performance hit.........

as for that Maxtor HD, Lew...I have had more than ymfair share of BAD maxtor HD's  is why I switched from Maxtor to WD to seagate ( 1 HD only) ended up using nothing but hitschi, and have never had 1 single complaint from them in the  last 6+ hitachies I have installed..........

we all have our choices :D   I do not propose  using that Hixfi SB sound card...Audigy yes/maybe  this other hifi SB card, would think of that also,
