Declaring War on the 475th
« Reply #136 on: April 13, 2006, 11:34:37 AM »
yep.  i was in the tower and saw CV 201 blinking so i jumped on the fleet and saw mass of low dots ib. i managed to kill 2 Lanc forms before CV died. when i saw who it was , I alerted Knits of LCA raid ib 147.  1st wave  of LCA was meet by maybe 5 or 6 fightErs LOL  vs esitmated 20 25 in the raid.

after 1st wave they continued to send low to medium alt planes to 147 which all failed.  then i noticed big bar near 138 to north, and called
to Knits that probable LCA raid ib from north ALTED, so we all upped  to engage, and squashed that attempt. after a 3rd and 4th attempt on 147,
LCA tried to back door 149, that raid was killed too. when i logged off,
an hour or 1.5 hours of fighting @ 147 area, 5 LCA raids killed off, by defending group half to only 2/3s thier attack force size LOL was hillarious.

First rule of NOE missions attacking across a body of water: send a single plane ahead of the main attack force to scout for fleets.

Ahhh, you have stumbled onto their evil little secret here Boxboy!

This is how you rack up meaningless stats when you fly with the
475th.  LOL   Now pay attention  :D  It took many months of
espionage to unearth the 475th's top ten list.  We lost many
an agent in the attempt but we eventually bribed one of them
with a quarter and a cigarette and got them out. :D

======================================

475th's Top 10 Fighting Principles
"How to Fight When The Kill is all That Matters"

1 - ALWAYS look for fights that are already in progress so you can
slip onto the tail of a fighter engaged in a pursuit and easily
kill them.  This is the REAL reason the 475th cherishes furballs:
for the easy kills and stat whoring.  This is the GOLDEN RULE.

2 - ALWAYS look for easy targets, preferably aircraft that are
vintage 1940. Flying a superior plane will almost always get
you a kill.  Flying against a contemporary aircraft leaves too
much to chance.

3 - ALWAYS look for aircraft that are leaving the fight and returning
to base.  Chances are that they are either damaged, out of ammo,
low on fuel or  the pilot is wounded.  In either case, a kill is
easily obtained.  Any kill is a good kill.

4 - NEVER attack alone.  A 1v1 fight leaves too much to chance.
Getting and landing kills so we can see our name in lights
is all that matters.

5 - ALWAYS vulch whenever possible.  Vulching allows you to rack
up a large number of kills in relative safety so you can see your
name in lights and impress your peers with your gaming skill
and statistics prowess.

6 - NEVER attempt to deack a field or attack ground targets.  Doing
so will not get you a kill and will only expose you to harm
so don't bother.  Let other players take on those tasks so you can
vulch when they are done.  You must have no qualms about sacrificing
countrymen so you can get kills.

7 - NEVER concern yourself with a base capture.  Use those
attempting to take a base as diversionary bait to allow you to apply
rule #2 and get some easy kills.

8 - if another countryman is in trouble and outnumbered
DO NOT attempt to help him.  Doing so will only guarantee you
a death and will deny you the precious statistic of
a kill.  Besides, we don't care about our country's objectives:
we only want to harvest kills so we can see our name in lights and
drool over our stats.

9 - NEVER auger your plane:  your stats are too important to
jeoparize your numbers by ejecting and getting a new plane.
ALWAYS fly back to a friendly base and land your kills - no matter
how much time it takes.

10 - ALWAYS remind players who don't notice how great you
are on their own, that you are the best fighter pilots that the
game has ever seen.  Be sure and point out their oversight to
them and show them your stats. We play this game for stats.
Our one and only goal is  to shoot down easy targets, land kills,
see our name in lights and accrue statistics.

====================================

So endeth the lesson...  :D

Sounds like we need to run some simultaneous attacks
at 3 or more bases....or just level the base we're going
after before striking.

Most military doctrine, especially in that era before technology became such a force multiplier, call for 3:1 odds for offensive operations.

Just saying ...

That list is funny, but I wouldnt label one squad with it. There are lots in here who follow a few of those rules.  For a squad that just wants to be in fighters, most of them actually make sense. For other types of players, the rules seem selfish.  To each their bone.

:rofl :rofl

Last I checked most of my kills are niks, lgay7s, and dweebfire 16s.  Last tour alone had 151 spit 16s, 99 lgay7s, and 101 niks and that was out of 1428 kills.  Listing those planes as those are the most frequently flown.

Rarely do I find early war planes as many people believe they are needed to survive and those that fly early war models are usually good sticks.

Look before you state something completely wrong.

Then you must be applying RULE #1 with unusual tenacity!

11 - ALWAYS defend your stats to other players.  Those numbers
define us as human beings and assert to the world that we are
special.  Defend your stats, like your honor, vociferously.  They
are who you are.

Remember troops, I'm just poking fun at you guys.
No need to take this stuff seriously.  Its all in good fun.
If it gets you mad, then you are seeing something that isn't there. :)
Besides, I wasn't addressing any individual.
