You can make it from the starting position. Just full throtle and hold the up key the whole takeoff. The tailwheel will look like its touching the water.

Made it to the fourth mission with all my lives. I saw how much ad to be destroyed and just gave up. So many lconcrete bunkers, regular bunkers, and a spit load of barracks. Woulda taken atleast an hour to finish.
