Display driver conflicts
« on: April 17, 2006, 11:06:29 PM »
If anyone can help, I recently installed a radeon 9550, everything seems to install fine, but at the end it says NO ATI graphis driver installed or not functioning properly. Under Device manager , display it shows two Radeon 9550 one with exclamation point. says its conflicting resources or something like that, Any help would be greatly appreciated.

sounds like you have 2 vid cards trying to run at the same time. Have you disabled your previous card and removed all the old drivers ? If not you could have a conflict. Have you disabled your onboard vid card, the one that came on yout motherboard when you bought your pc, disabling them is different on some pc's check your manual and make sure you disable it. Most pc's they can be disabled through your system BIOS or through the hardware manager in windows... do a search on here for onboard video cards... I'm no expert but to me it really sounds like your new card is trying to run off the old drivers, they need to be deleted and the new ones that came with your new card need to be installed, they should be on a cd, if not go to the vid cards website and download the latest and greatest for your card.... Hope this helps, if not its out of my league bro
