saying Diamond Dave was the talkent is like saying Robert Plant was the only talent in Led Zeppelin.

yes Dave was a GREAT showman, and performer, and intergral to the band, but not the musical "talent"

sammy was a hack with messed up bellybutton hair who could scream-sing like most any other 80's band.

Eddie and Mike were the musicians IMHO.

Good musiccians do not make a good band.

VH sucked from the point DLR left, and still suck today, that eddie can play a guitar maters little when the front man for the band is a talentless ******.

If it wasnt for the crowd still driving IrocZs with mullets the band would have died the death it should have..... in the 80s.

britteny spears is a good dancer, hot, a good performer, but her music is ****....

a performer can only take you so far. Elvis was a performer who had good songs to sing. same deal.

don't get me wrong, Van Halen NOT Van Hagar is where it's at, but i would not say Dave was center of it all is all.

Sad but true.  Look at Yingvay Malmsteen.  Pretty fine player but it never really got him anywhere.  Doubt most people have even heard of him.

VH never recovered once DLR left.

Gto and who ever says van Halen sucks you could be farther from the truth at least imo.  I play the guitar so i have an admiration of those who were awesome on guitar.  Van Halen is up there way up there. Now somebody like green day who still make good music but OMFG my sister could have made those songs.  All they use is power chords.

DLR sucked on his own as well, and was not all that talented.


The combo of him and the VH's was what made them good.

they should have just died in a planecrash.
