First off 7800GT series cards are NOT AGP.
Secondly, before you spend the $$$ on a "7800GTX" I would grab a 7900GT instead, cost difference is minimal.

You might also make sure your current system spec's can handle such a card AND that you have MB with a PCI-xpress slot.

If not, you will have to use an AGP card which really limits your vid card choices and the 7800GS would be your best bang for the buck.
Keep in mind, AGP is at the end of it's road and you'll be investing in obsolete technology before you even bolt it in!!!

Hope this helps

P.S. There is no such thing as a Radeon 7800GTX

ATI = Radeon
Nvidia = 7800GT (GeForce)

oops sorry,

I meant Radeon X800 XL.  yeah, my p.c. runs ah2 great. I was just thinking about upgrading so i can BF2 another game i got for XMAS.  I used to play Battlefield 1942 a little and my nephew gave it to me. i just wanted to upgrade to play both, maybe its not a good idea. i dont want to invest in old technology.) Maybe I should wait and some year get a bigger better p.c.

yourre probably right about the AGP slots going out of date,

Maybe next year, ill probably hate Battle field 2 anyway! thanks for teh tip,

I had the same question and 38ruk and others educated me on PS issue...you need to make sure you have enough amps on your 12v line...its not just the raw power (watts) but how they are distributed. Alot of high watt PS's still allocate much of the power to the 5v and 3.3 v rails...with only 12 or 15 amps to the 12v rail....you need 18 and preferably 20@+ on the 12v rail....the 7900 GTS will draw around 170 watts or so....since more and more power drain is on the 12v line this is dangerously close to maxing out either a low watt supply or one with a low amp rating on the 12 rail....my 18a 12v rail will give 216 watts on a 300W PS....exactly the same as the 400 watt PS in the box in my old box {2 generartions ago}.
