In all seriousness, I suggest you move around some, and try flying with different squads, there are any number of squads that are willing to take new players in and show them the ropes. Find a squad where you feel you fit in, and they'll probably feel the same way. If the feeling is mutual, it won't be long before you get an invitation to join.

I'd also suggest you hit the training arena, and get some lessons on the P-38 from Widewing. You can also try working with Silat, but I fear you are far too young and impressionable to survive exposure to Silat without serious emotional scarring.

You might look in the help and training section of the board here, and download the P-38 films found there.

The 475th and the 479th may be the closest to a P-38 squadron, if such exists. Although I do fly the P-38 (not so much lately as I've been working on other things) a great deal normally, I don't fly with either group, although I have flown with the 475th just to tag along.

The P-38 is a very difficult plane to truly master, I've never really mastered it myself, I am barely mediocre, at best. It takes a long period of devoted work and practice. It is probably NOT the plane to start with, especially with the problems evident in the current iteration. Maybe when the next patch comes out things will change.

I thought this was a conversation about airplanes?  no?  Do construction materials with wings count?

Savage, now that the 38 has been porked with its flaps its almost like having to relearn the whole bird again.  Same with now not being able to use autopilot to get out of dives.

Yeah, well, I never was that good anyway. I didn't use autopilot to pull out much. I did notice the flap issue the other night. I was landing and dropped that last notch. I almost pancaked it before I remembered the flap bug. Full power, WEP included, wouldn't keep it in the air. Had to change my flight suit.
